The Sorensen Asterion DC Half-Rack Series by AMETEK Programmable Power delivers the intelligence, flexibility, and precision of the proven Asterion platform in a compact 1U half-rack form factor. Designed as a more affordable entry point into the Asterion family, the Half-Rack Series provides 1.7 kW of programmable DC output power while maintaining the advanced control, connectivity, and reliability required for modern test environments. Available in both Fixed Range and Autoranging models, the Asterion DC Half-Rack allows users to balance cost, performance, and flexibility:
- Fixed Range models offer an economical solution for applications with well-defined voltage and current requirements.
- Autoranging models provide expanded voltage and current coverage at full power, reducing the need to purchase multiple supplies.
With its high power density, intuitive touchscreen interface, and broad control interface support, the Asterion DC Half-Rack is ideal for customers who need Asterion-class performance in a smaller, more cost-effective package.

Control via Front Panel Touchscreen & Digital Interfaces
The Asterion DC Half-Rack Series can be operated locally from its intuitive front panel touchscreen or remotely through standard digital control interfaces. Users can program, monitor, and control the supply using:
- Ethernet (LXI compliant)
- USB
- RS232
- Optional GPIB or EtherCAT
The touchscreen menu structure provides quick access to Dashboard monitoring, output programming, measurements, ramp functions, configuration settings, and system status. A dynamic rate-change algorithm enables precise fine adjustments while allowing rapid changes across the full operating range.
